Bosch controls are designed to maximise the heating system’s efficiency and allow the heating engineer quick and easy access to all functions of the boiler and heating system.

For larger commercial heating projects, even greater control possibilities are available with the modular 4000 series. The 4000 series of controllers provides a wide range of control options for single and multi-boiler systems.

RC35 Controls and Modules

For installations where Building Management Systems are not in place

  • Room temperature and weather dependant control
  • Utilises Bosch EMS intelligence
  • Control of up to 4 heating circuits – mixed and unmixed
  • Function-enhancing modules (system separation, mixed heating circuit, solar)
  • ErP system efficiency uplifts of up to 5%

RC25 Room Temperature Controller

  • Very simple to use and removes the need to visit the boiler to change the temperature. For installation with the RC35 control to provide zone temperature control
  • 5% ErP efficiency increase when combining two controls in conjunction with an RC35 control (GB162 50kW and 65kW)
  • Can control one mixed and one unmixed heating circuit and DHW, while also having the space to allow the connection of an additional module

WM10 – System Separation

  • System separation module
  • Intelligent flow temperature control for low loss headers or plate heat exchangers
  • For use in conjunction with the RC35 control
  • Ability to control one secondary pump (after the low loss header)

MM10 – Mixer Module

  • Mixer module for mixed temperature heating circuits. For example, underfloor heating, large surface area radiators
  • Ability to control one pump, one mixing/blending valve from heating circuit-specific temperature sensors
  • For use in conjunction with the RC35 control – temperature settings

MCM10 Cascade Sequencer

Intelligent sequencing module for up to four EMS boilers. Multiple MCM10s for control of up to 16 cascaded boilers.

Compatible with existing Building Management Systems, or with third party controls, the MCM10 intelligently sequences boilers in cascades, minimising wear and tear.

Functionality includes:

  • Pump control (1 unmixed heating circuit)
  • Outdoor weather sensor
  • Control of up to 4 boilers with Bosch Energy Management System
  • Up to 4 MCM10s in one system, controlling up to 16 boilers
  • 0-10V input and fault signal output

Benefits:

The MCM10 interprets a 0-10V signal from the BMS and modulates the output of the boilers to satisfy system demand in the most efficient way.

  • Wear management – the lead boiler in a cascade is alternated to ensure an even number of starts for each boiler
  • Intelligent sequencing – boilers are gradually brought into operation before the previous boiler gets to 100% – smooth sequencing curve
  • Bosch EMS – intelligent BUS system allows for scalable solutions. One MCM10 can control up to 4 boilers and 4 can be linked together, providing control of up to 16 boilers
  • Aggregated flow temperature control – sensor input from hydraulic separation solution, i.e. low loss headers or plate heat exchangers
  • Weather sensor – weather compensation factoring in outdoor temperatures and required indoor heating set points (in conjunction with RC35 time and temperature control)
  • Control of one external heating pump for circuits without mixing valves

4000 Controls and Modules

For larger commercial heating projects even greater control possibilities are available with the modular 4000 series.

The 4000 control platform series combines simplicity of installation with the optional complexity required to intelligently control commercial boilers and the components within the heating system.

Suitable for boilers with or without the Bosch Energy Management System.

EMS

Bosch’s Energy Management Systems ensures intelligent communication between all heating system components, including boilers, CHP modules, solar thermal, pumps and Gas Absorption Heat Pumps.

Modules

Basic functionality is built into the 4000 controls, however, the function modules provide a flexibility and scalable control solution. System complexity is managed with easily and comprehensively with modules that deliver cascade sequencing, heating circuit control, error reports to BMS, alternative heat sources and safety chain management (high limit thermostats & back-end protection).

Benefits:

The 4121, 4122 and 4323 controls are all compatible with the Bosch range of EMS boilers, the GB162 wall-hung cascade boiler and the floor standing GB312 and GB402 boilers.

These controls contain varying levels of in-built intelligence, with particular heating system control requirements realised via optional function modules.

4000 EMS Function Modules

  • Boiler sequencing of up to 2 boiler or 4 boilers. Up to 8 boilers possible.
  • Additional heating circuit control.
  • BMS 0-10v interface option with error and fault reporting.
  • Integration of solar thermal and alternative heat sources such as CHP or Gas Absorption Heat Pumps.

4000 External Burners

The 4211, 4212, 4321 and 4322 controls are all compatible with the Bosch range of Cast Iron and Stainless Steel boilers, which all utilise external, non-integrated burners for fuel supply flexibility and energy security.

These controls contain varying levels of in-built intelligence, with particular heating system control requirements realised via optional function modules:

  • External burner control.
  • Back-end protection control – raising of return temperature with mixing valve.
  • BMS 0-10v interface option with error and fault reporting.
  • Integral heating circuit control.
  • Additional heating circuits.
  • MEC2 clip-in control and remote room thermostat option.
  • Weather compensation options.
  • Domestic Hot Water (DHW) control of load and circulation pumps and tank sensors.

EM10 – BMS Interface Module

The EM10 module allows for straightforward installation into existing Building Management Systems (BMS). The BMS takes control of the heating installation, sending a signal to fire Bosch’s EMS boilers (GB162, GB312 and GB402). The BMS controls the sequencing of cascade installations. A run and error signal is available as an output from the boilers

  • Simple 0-10V interface solution for Building Management Systems that are designed to sequence controls
  • A volt-free run signal is provided for BMS feedback to indicate when a boiler’s burner is firing
  • Error module functionality – fault condition information back to BMS via a 24V or 230V signal
  • Flow temperature control or boiler power control (as a percentage of the boiler’s modulation range)
  • One EM10 module per boiler
